studio

It’s just me, and it’s going to take a while.

It’s just me and Unreal Engine 5. Come What May is the game, and the only reason there’s a studio name on anything.

The world side of it runs already — terrain, weather, wildlife. The part you’d actually play is what I’m building now. There will be more to say about it when there’s something to play; until then this page is most of it.

Things I’m holding to

3 of them
01

Build the smallest thing that answers the question

A prototype is for settling one question, not for keeping. Most of what I build first is meant for the bin, and now and then one earns its place instead.

02

Measure before changing anything

The expensive thing is almost never the thing that looks expensive. The profiler has been right and my eyes wrong often enough that I stopped guessing.

03

Only talk about what exists

No date until I’d bet money on it, no store page until there’s something to play, and not much about the design until you can get your hands on it. Quiet is not the same as nothing happening.
